About us

The Plasma Accelerators Group is responsible for theoretical and experimental research on plasma/ion sources within the Magnetized Plasma Physics department of the IPPLM. It continues and expands the Electric Propulsion research activity formerly hosted at IPPT, building upon IPPLM's capabilities and know-how in the field of experimental plasma physics.

Our research encompasses computer modeling, fundamental theoretical studies, technological design and experimental characterization of plasma sources, with a particular focus on Hall accelerators.

You will find here general information regarding our research and publications, as well as some background material on plasma propulsion.

Much of this work is performed in collaboration with a large research network led by CNES, CNRS and SNECMA (Research network PPSO).
